AMZ Review Tool provides a Chrome extension and related website features that help users collect, filter, deduplicate, and export customer reviews from Amazon product and review pages that the user opens.
1. Who we are
This Privacy Policy applies to the AMZ Review Tool Chrome extension, the website at https://amzreviewtool.org/, and related account, support, checkout, and subscription features connected to the product.
For privacy or support questions, contact support@merchsignal.com.
2. What we collect and process
A. Data processed locally in the extension
When you use the extension on supported Amazon product or review pages, the extension may access page content needed to provide the feature you requested, including product title and ASIN, review text, review titles, ratings, dates, review metadata, review page URLs, filter settings you choose inside the extension, and export-ready review data generated from the page.
This data is used only to provide the extension's user-facing features, including collection, filtering, deduplication, and export.
B. Account and subscription data
If you sign in or use paid features, we may process your email address and account identifiers, plan and subscription status, authentication tokens and session-related data, and device or installation identifiers used for account security and session management.
C. Billing and payment data
If you purchase a paid plan, checkout and subscription management are currently handled through MerchSignal-hosted checkout and related billing infrastructure, including Lemon Squeezy where used in the purchase flow. We do not store your full payment card number in the extension or on amzreviewtool.org.
D. Support and contact data
If you contact us, report a bug, request a feature, or ask for account help, we may receive your name or email address if you provide it, the contents of your message, screenshots or attachments you choose to send, and limited technical details reasonably needed to investigate the issue.
E. Website, security, and technical data
The website and connected services may process basic technical data such as IP address, browser and device information, server and security logs, and limited cookies or local storage needed for security, authentication, preferences, and core site functionality.
3. How we use data
We use data only as reasonably necessary to provide the extension's collection, filtering, deduplication, and export features; authenticate users and manage accounts; verify free or paid plan access; process subscriptions, checkout, cancellations, and related billing matters; provide customer support; prevent fraud, abuse, unauthorized access, or misuse; and maintain product reliability, security, and service operations.
4. What stays local in the browser
The core review-processing workflow is designed to run locally in the user's browser. In normal use, review content collected from supported Amazon pages is processed locally for the user-facing features of the extension.
5. What may be sent to our backend or service providers
We may transmit limited data to connected services when necessary for account or business operations, such as sign-in and authentication requests, subscription and entitlement checks, payment, checkout, and billing events, support requests that you submit, and security, fraud-prevention, and service reliability events.
We do not sell review data or browsing activity. We do not use Amazon page data collected by the extension for advertising. We do not collect your full browsing history outside supported Amazon pages required for the extension's feature.
6. Third parties we share data with
We may share data only as reasonably necessary with the following providers or categories of providers:
- Cloudflare for website hosting, delivery, and security;
- MerchSignal for account, authentication, subscription, API, and related service operations;
- Lemon Squeezy when used for billing and subscription management; and
- professional advisors, legal authorities, or counterparties in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale when legally required or reasonably necessary.
7. Chrome Web Store limited-use statement
AMZ Review Tool uses data from user-opened Amazon pages only to provide the collection, filtering, deduplication, and export features described in the extension interface and Chrome Web Store listing. We do not sell that data or use it for advertising.
8. Data retention
We keep personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for providing the service, maintaining account and subscription records, resolving disputes and support matters, enforcing agreements, and meeting legal, tax, accounting, or security obligations.
9. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect data. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, or restriction of your personal data. You may also have rights to object to certain processing or request a copy of your data where required by law.
For privacy-related requests, email support@merchsignal.com.
11. Children's privacy
AMZ Review Tool is not directed to children and is not intended for use by children under the age required by applicable law to use digital services without parental consent.
